The Garden Opening
The Lord gave us a beautiful day of sunshine and warmth to help with the grand opening of our garden. The garden committee expresses their sincere thanks to all donors who gave generously and joyfully to make this project a success:
Kellogg Garden Supply
Eco Farms Inc.
RCP Block and Brick
Slow Food Temecula Valley
Snow Irrigation
Lowe's
The Windemuth Family
The Sargent Family
The Gridley Family
The Varese Family
The Cope Family
The Taft Family
The Nieto Family
Dr. Young
Drake Charles
The guests were first greeted with bundles of sage and lavender with a Bible verse that was printed on paper that could be planted and grown. There were sweet desserts to commemorate the sweet success of our garden. Next, there was a ceremony, giving special thanks to our Lord and donors. Then we looked into the history of the garden, and celebrated our new addition, the Discovery garden. All the elementary students came to the hand washing station made from watering cans. They tried on bee suits, looked at a beehive, and tasted honeycomb. It was delicious!
There were fresh oranges to take home, a sundial, a windmill, a weathervane, and a butterfly garden. Right now, the butterflies are in their cocoons, but will be out soon to discover their new home. One of the neat features of the new garden is the mosaic benches where you can sit in the shade and take it all in. The garden is a fun place. People should come out here more often.
